Nico's Surprise Party-October 4, 2008

Yesterday we celebrated Nico's 17th birthday. We planned to have a surprise party for him to make it more exciting and that we're getting used to it already. The whole day was very fun and there were lots and lots of food presented by tita Liza. It was a great experience since we celebrated in a condominium or a hotel room which tita Liza rented (I'm not really sure but it was a totally different way to celebrate your birthday at this age). If I'd be given a chance to describe the whole day in one word, I'd say, Blessing.

What I like most about the Elorde family is that no matter how well known they already are, no matter how blessed they are, and no matter how many good things they receive from God everyday, they never get selfish or proud. They always remain down to earth and even become more generous. It is an honor for me to be known or to have this family close to me because they really are great disciples of God and I have experienced their generosity all through out my life. They show people how to be good, and disciplined and these are the kinds of people that our country and the whole world need.

Once again it was a great day for my barkada to just bond and enjoy each other's company and for us just to relax and get away from all the stress we get from school. We enjoyed the whole day through eating, swimming, watching TV, and laughing our hearts out whenever someone shares a joke. I wish and I know that we will have more times like these. "ALAB Forever"

"Blessing", I say for the nth time already is because that that time we had together was full of joy. God gave us each other to realize that we are not alone in this world and there are people who really care for us. This clan we have has already turned into a family. I remember at one point during the day that we were all in one room squeezing each other in and I told myself that these are also my brothers and sisters. For those moments we lived together, I really felt us, ALAB really being a family.

There's no new lesson that I can share from the whole experience but there still is something of course and I've said all over through my previous entries. "Be thankful to the Lord." That's basically it. After a day of ups and downs, you should always say a thanksigiving prayer because it's one way of returning and recognizing God's love.

Until the next time.

Phim
